Diagnosis / Journey
At the age of thirteen Annica was diagnosed with stage IV Rhabdomyosarcoma. With time and treatment she was able to recover. Unfortunately, with years filled with relapse and remission, the cancer had metastasized.
Her Mindset
Annica was determined to live her life her way. She would not allow her physical or mental condition stop her from doing what she wanted to do. Her unyielding strength was overwhelming.
She always found ways to adjust, strive and not only support herself but all those around her. Annica was selfless and showed compassion to all that met her, because that was just who she was.
Just like many others who have gone through similar situations, Annica dreamed about becoming an oncologist. She trusted that with her first hand experience she could provide a sense of understanding, empathy and reassurance.
